Hansa-Projekt uses TimeTrack’s work and project time tracking to record working hours on the road, map bonuses and keep track of projects.
Achim Middeldorf is the managing partner of the Hansa Projekt group of companies. Within the group there are three independent electrical engineering companies (Hansa Projekt Elektro- und Sicherheitstechnik, Hansa Projekt NetCom and Hansa Projekt Energie- und Anlagetechnik) with more than 150 employees. The company was founded in 1979. Since then, it has been carrying out complex projects for its customers, covering all relevant project phases – from consulting and planning, technical implementation and logistics to service, maintenance and troubleshooting 24/7.
The Hansa Group is a medium-sized group of companies in the electrical trade based in Hamburg. The parent company is Hansa Projekt GmbH and under it there are 3 operating companies. The group of companies is active in the following areas: Energy and plant engineering, electrical and security engineering as well as fiber optics and network engineering.
We have been an owner-managed family business since our foundation in 1979. In the meantime, we consist of 150 employees and mostly serve our customers from industry, trade and telecommunications on a long-term basis. What makes our company special is our corporate goal: we focus less on increasing shareholder value and more on ensuring quality, satisfaction of our customers and our employees.
Basically, there are not many major changes in the electrical sector. Therefore, our main goal is to remain a stable company. We do not have any big growth paths in mind, but rather focus on maintaining our current level by continuing to satisfy our customers through high quality. The same applies to our employees – we are satisfied with our workload and performance, and we want to maintain this.
“The general introduction of TimeTrack in our company actually went smoothly.
We actually introduced our first electronic time recording system back in 2013. However, its technology was not yet fully developed and it cost us a lot of effort. That’s when we decided to look for a simple and intuitive solution that would allow our fitters to record their working hours, especially while on the road. Our employees have many jobs to travel to every day. A time recording system like TimeTrack offers great added value: employees can clock in and out easily, independently and directly on the road. After the end of the working day, everything is then calculated and we have all the working hours recorded in the system. That didn’t really work with our first time tracking tool.
The reason for our decision is simple: I found the operation of TimeTrack very intuitive and thought I could implement it well with our fitters. In addition, TimeTrack covered all our time tracking needs. As already mentioned, we are active in the craft sector and in this industry we regularly charge extra for overtime, night work, on-call time or holiday work. TimeTrack was able to take a lot of work off our hands and everything is displayed graphically so that we have a good overview of our business.
Digitization essentially means turning away from everything that is analog. We wanted to use the topic of digitization consistently and without human intervention.
Our goal was to basically do everything digitally and have an overview of projects from any location.
It was also about simplifying the overview of working hours for employees, who no longer have to fill out paper. They can just look in the app and see the number of hours worked and bonuses, as well as days absent, such as vacation, training or sickness, that simply in the personal calendar or other evaluations. And all this means for us, in terms of digitalization, time savings and transparency.
First and foremost, of course, it’s about meeting our requirements. We were looking for an intuitive software that we can trust and that we don’t have to edit or add much data. Our employees record their working hours and we can rely on the system to record the data correctly or to present it transparently. I find TimeTrack very intuitive, along with the mobile app that allows you to record times seamlessly and from anywhere.
In addition, a nice analysis of the current data is definitely a big plus for me and our supervisors. That means I can get an overview of where my employee or department spent their working hours, for example. That’s what I like best – and that’s what TimeTrack delivers.
Absolutely. Basically, I would say that you have to have a certain size to make it worthwhile to set it up. We are one of the 50 largest electrical trade companies in Germany and have different needs for the processes and especially for the interaction with other systems such as accounting or ERP systems to be able to invoice our 150 employees in an automated way.
It is always difficult to make a recommendation, but I always recommend TimeTrack to anyone who asks me about it. We are convinced of TimeTrack.
Through the intuitive recording of working time as well as work bonuses, TimeTrack was able to meet Hansa-Projekt’s requirements and increase efficiency or transparency in the company.
