In TimeTrack, requested absences must be approved, and this is managed through approval rules.
To create new rules, click on Approvals under Settings > Attendance und Leave. Here, you can add new rules or edit existing ones.
Within the rules, you can assign an approver, users or user groups for whom the approver can approve absences, and define the data type. For absence approvals, select “Absences” under “Datatype.”
Now, the users listed in the rules can approve absence requests for others. To be able to approve their own requests, the user must also be included in a rule that specifies they are allowed to approve for themselves.
The user who is authorized to approve absences will receive notifications about requested absences.
Once an employee submits an absence request and is awaiting approval, you can approve absences under “Requests” in the “Attendance Tracking” module. This can also be done in the “Calendar.”
If the permission “Users can withdraw their future not yet approved applications” is granted, employees can withdraw their own unapproved absence requests. Once a request is approved, employees can no longer withdraw it, and further changes must be discussed with their supervisor. The supervisor, who acts as an administrator in the system, can modify or cancel the request afterwards.
As long as the absence request has not yet been approved, employees can withdraw it and submit a new one.
