You can import already collected data of Customers, Projects, Activities, Expenses, Time Entries and Attendances as CSV into TimeTrack. To do this, go to Settings > General > Data Import.
In the first field, use the drop-down menu to select which data you want to import. It is recommended to import Clients first, then Projects and then Time Records. Upload the file containing the data and assign the fields from the CSV file to the corresponding fields in TimeTrack. There must be headers in the file. We have also prepared templates for these CSV files, which can be found here.
Once you have defined all the fields, press the Check Button and wait for an E-mail Notification. You will receive this information as soon as the data import is completed. Repeat the process as often as needed.
When you export your TimeTrack data, we offer you different options. On the one hand, you can export the selected data individually or export all data together.
In the first case, you can export data such as time entries, expenses, working time reports (Report&Analysis), timesheets and attendances via the corresponding module with the icon as a CSV File or also as a PDF/Onepager.
You can configure the CSV export for time entries, expenses, attendances and working time report individually according to your needs. Under Settings > General > Data Export you will find a selection of export fields for the listed features.
This allows you to determine which data and information should be included in the CSV document and which you do not need. Simply deselect the appropriate field and it will no longer appear in the next export. If you do not want the field to be displayed, simply check the box again and the field will be reactivated on export.
In the second case, enter the email address to which the entire data export should be sent in the field under Settings > General > Data Export. Then click Export All Data and wait for the email with the files. It may take a few minutes.
To make data import from other programs even easier for you, we have prepared a few import templates for you.
Download the file, edit the file in a simple text editor or directly in Excel. When opening in Excel, you need to import the file if the Excel does not recognize , as a separator. When importing into Excel, you will be asked if you want the separator to be ; or ,.
Then save the file in CSV file format.
