What is Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On?

Azure Active Directory is now Microsoft Entra ID. The integration of Microsoft Entra ID allows you to access your TimeTrack account with a single sign-on (SSO) through your Microsoft Azure Active Directory. As an admin, you also maintain control over who has access to TimeTrack and can manage all TimeTrack accounts directly from your Microsoft Azure account.

Configure TimeTrack with Microsoft Azure AD (8 steps)

To configure TimeTrack and Microsoft Azure Single Sign On, you need a Microsoft Azure AD subscription and a TimeTrack account in which you are the admin.
Add TimeTrack from the Azure Gallery to your list of managed SaaS applications.
- To do this, type TimeTrack in the Azure AD Gallery search bar.
- Select TimeTrack from the results and add the app.
- Select the Azure Active Directory.
- Click on “Enterprise Applications.”
- Type TimeTrack in the search bar and select it.
In the menu on the left, click “Single sign-on” and select “SAML”.

4. Edit the first field “Basic SAML configuration”.

You need to fill in the first two fields “Identifier (Entity ID)” and “Response URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)”.
- For the “Identifier” field, copy the following link and enter your account name: https://ACCOUNTNAME.timetrackenterprise.com/api/v2/azure/saml20
- For the “Response URL” field, copy the following link and enter your account name: https://ACCOUNTNAME.timetrackenterprise.com/api/v2/azure/callback
Click on “Save”.

5. Open your TimeTrack account and go to Settings > General > Integration > Microsoft Azure Active Directory > New Configuration.

6. In Azure Active Directory, from the “Set up TimeTrack” field, copy the URL for the login.

7. From the SAML Signing Certificate field, copy the fingerprint.

8. Enter the URL and fingerprint from Azure into TimeTrack.

Personalize your account

Now you need to enter appropriate values for the mapping for Azure Attributes / Claims.

In the Active Directory you can enter your personal data under the second field “Attributes & Claims”.
If you click on “Edit”, you can create a new claim such as for your NFC tag for the TimeTrack Terminal App. Once this field is created and defined in Microsoft Azure, TimeTrack will take the NFC tag from your Active Directory. This will automatically create a Terminal App account for you.

As a user, you will need permission to log into TimeTrack using Microsoft Azure.

In your Microsoft Azure account, click on “Users and Groups”.
Click on “Add user/group” and select the users you want to grant this permission to.

Advantages the TimeTrack and Microsoft Azure AD configuration

Once you are logged into your Microsoft Azure account, there is no need to log into TimeTrack separately. Your TimeTrack login window should now say “Log in with Azure AD.” Admins can always log in without the Microsoft Azure.
